Euthanasia

Providing compassionate care during a difficult time.

Deciding to euthanize a pet is one of the most difficult moments in an owner’s life. It’s always hard to say goodbye to a trusted companion, but it’s important to know that euthanasia is sometimes the best decision for an animal that’s suffering or at the end of life. Our team is here to offer support and guide you through this difficult time.

What happens during a euthanasia appointment?

Euthanasia takes place in a private room where you will be able to say your final goodbyes in a calm, quiet space. When the time comes, the veterinarian will first inject a sedative to calm down the animal and relieve any pain. They then administer a second injection containing the drug.

How do you know when it’s time?

Making the decision to put a pet down is never easy. Our animal health team can provide guidance during this difficult time. If your pet is suffering or no longer enjoys a good quality of life and you’re considering euthanasia, we recommend speaking with one of our veterinarians. A veterinarian will be able to present you with possible alternatives and help you make an informed decision.
